As People and Performance Director, you’ll focus on the People and Performance levers across our International CS&I team which covers the areas of Consumer experience and Insight excellence, Product and Pack Innovation, Project Management, Corporate Communications, Heritage and our ESG (Sustainability) agenda. The CS&I team is made up of 85 people across 6 countries. As a business partner to the Chief Brand Officer, you will proactively support and partner the CS&I team to continue to develop capability excellence along with an inspiring team culture which together supports and enables high performance.
Key Responsibilities
- You will deliver People and Performance expertise to the CS&I team and you will be based in Andover working closely with the leadership team to ensure the successful enablement of business strategy through the people agenda.
- As an integral part of the leadership team, you will also empower the team through coaching, supporting and stretching key individuals as part of their leadership development journeys.
- You will also be integral to creating a ‘one high performing team’ dynamic.
Key Accountabilities
- Compelling OD and OP strategy for CSI with clear and sequenced implementation plan.
- Clear leadership of change strategy and implementation plan in action for the above, working cross-functionally where needed.
- Bring in external best practice as part of the OD and OP and future strategy/planning.
- HR leadership of the BAU agenda for CS&I and its line managers.
- Lead on talent acquisition for CS&I seamlessly managed through ‘one team’ approach with HR shared service and TA team.
- In conjunction with the leadership team, define and implement an inspiring and energising culture that delivers on the TwO employee experience ambitions and aligns with the Twinings Ovo Values.
- Implement and sustain the TwO Thrive approach, always ensuring the managers are confident and able to hold great Thrive conversations with their teams to optimise the potential for individuals to make a great contribution.
- Lead and create relevant and impactful Inclusion & Diversity agendas which fulfil our ambitions for becoming a workplace where everyone is welcome.
- Provide expert HR advice and identify potential capabilities and ways of working.
- Manage the talent process and create successful bench-strength and succession plans for the future.
- Drive employee engagement and support managers to create an environment that is a great place to work, leveraging our employee listening platform.
- Understand the drivers of engagement and areas for improvement.
- Bring new ideas to the table that challenge how we think about the future of work for employees and build manager capability to discuss this with their teams.
- Collaborate with managers to plan and deliver highly impactful and effective development activities at both individual and team levels.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on compensation particularly throughout the annual salary review process.
- Provide customised day to day operational support and coaching to line managers, according to their stage of development, across the full spectrum of people management activities, building line manager capability at every opportunity.
- Deliver effective employment relations, compliant with local employment legislation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The role would suit a highly experienced and innovative HR professional with passion and knowledge for transforming and developing organisations. You will have a very good understanding of innovation, and a good enough understanding of Marketing and Insight to be able to add value to leadership discussions and provide alternative perspectives and be happy working as a visible HR presence to build high trust and rapport with the team. The successful candidate would have a proven ability to juggle, prioritise and deliver multiple activities with rigour and discipline under time pressure. Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and simplify complexity are important for success. The successful candidate will be able to cut through to light, smart solutions and avoid bureaucracy. A background combining both blue chip and smaller, more entrepreneurial working environments would be ideal. Exposure to transformation management would be desired.
Significant HR generalist business partner experience at operational and strategic levels.
Experience within FMCG/CPG essential.
Experience in Consumer Innovation highly desirable.
Successful track record in developing organisations and individuals.
Experience of developing people strategy to meet business needs.
Experienced in coaching teams and individuals.
Experience and success in project and process management.
Experience in managing employee relations and sensitive situations e.g. capability issues, grievances, disciplinary issues.
