Overview
Join an exciting project to bring Nepal’s vibrant culture and landscapes to life for young readers. This role involves illustrating a children’s book that follows Felix Wanderfoot, a young explorer, as he discovers Nepal’s unique traditions, wildlife, and scenery. The project aims to foster social and climate sustainability by authentically representing Nepal through local artistry and perspective. The illustrator will play a key role in shaping the visual identity of the book, ensuring that every page resonates with authenticity and creativity. This is an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful educational series and showcase Nepalese culture to a global audience.
Deliverables
- Final character designs, including a local Nepalese child and an animal sidekick
- Full cover artwork with series branding
- 12–15 double-page color spreads depicting Nepal’s culture, wildlife, and landscapes
- Illustrations for front and end matter, a cultural glossary, and interactive/scrapbook pages
- Print-ready files formatted to a specific trim size
Requirements
- Based in Nepal, with a deep understanding of local culture and traditions
- Strong portfolio of colorful, whimsical illustrations for young children
- Ability to highlight cultural details and ensure authenticity in all artwork
- Experience with children’s book illustration, including character design and storytelling through visuals
