Join an exciting opportunity to build South Africa’s first dedicated padel marketplace platform. As the lead application developer, you will be instrumental in architecting and developing a robust, user-friendly mobile and web application tailored for the preloved padel equipment market. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial developer eager to shape a new digital marketplace from the ground up, with the flexibility to join as a paid developer or as a tech co-founder with potential equity. The project draws inspiration from established resale platforms but is uniquely focused on the fast-growing padel community, with a target delivery within 2025.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of a marketplace app for both web and mobile platforms
- Collaborate closely with the founder to define technical requirements and product roadmap
- Design and implement secure user authentication, product listings, and payment integration
- Develop scalable backend infrastructure to support growth and high user engagement
- Ensure seamless user experience, intuitive navigation, and responsive design
- Integrate features such as search, filtering, messaging, and transaction management
- Oversee deployment, testing, and ongoing maintenance of the platform
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in marketplace and e-commerce development
Skills and Requirements
- Proven experience building and launching marketplace applications (web and mobile)
