We are proud that our summer centres run from 4 to 6 weeks per annum, our students, who are under the age of 18, come from all over the world, typically staying for 13 nights where they complete a 30-hour English Language Course along with activities on-site, half-day and full-day excursions, and evening activities. Twin Summer Centres are offering residential full-board and non-residential summer contracts at 8 different UK locations: Canterbury, London Docklands, London Greenwich, Nottingham, Lincoln, Gloucester and Norwich.
The syllabus writers have overall responsibility for researching and compiling project curriculums and syllabus design ensuring that it is closely aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Defined learning outcomes must be articulated in βcan doβ descriptors. Approach(es) to be taken, e.g., Task-Based Learning and Communicative Approach to name a few.
The Syllabus Writer must initially carry out research into weekly excursions and devise accompanying project-based lessons. This must include intended learning outcomes with reference to the curriculum, syllabus, course programme/schemes of work, learner needs and course materials. Writers will create class-ready PowerPoint presentations with accompanying notes for teachers and deliver practical CPD training sessions on how to deliver, ensuring materials are delivered to a high standard maximising student engagement and learning.

- Formulate coherent and achievable stages and stage aims.
- Consider learner-centredness for language skills: formulate detailed language analysis of meaning, form, pronunciation (and appropriacy, as necessary).
- Consider learner participation and detailed anticipated problems.
- For skills: focus on achievable intended learning outcomes in terms of learner development of sub-skills.
- Include a variety of interaction patterns to support learner participation and effective classroom interaction.
- Incorporate authentic use of language.
- Incorporate self- and peer evaluation by learners.
- Include content and language feedback following the speaking/writing stages.
- Build in evaluation metrics to assess achievement of intended learning.
- Include provisions for the reasonable accommodation of learners with specific needs.
- Revise, edit and update content as necessary.
- Ensure content aligns with learning outcomes.
- Include some reflection on the lesson and learning.
- Compile teacher guides and notes, detailing how to effectively use class materials within an EFL setting.
- Devise and deliver CPD sessions on materials.

Education/Qualification
- Diploma level qualification (DELTA/Trinity TESOL Diploma and/or MA with a substantial element of observed teaching practice) (Essential).
- Educated to degree level.
Skills and Experience
- Background in EFL syllabus writing.
- Desirable, but not essential: Summer School experience.
- First Aid Training.
- Proven experience teaching young learners/teenagers.
- Safeguarding / Child Protection Course Level 1 or higher (to be completed before commencement of employment).
- Be up to date with the latest educational trends, methodologies and technologies.
- Adhere to copyright laws and maintain ethical writing standards.
Additional Information
- Salary: up to Β£30,000.00 per annum depending on experience.
- Location: Remote.
- Contract: Fixed-term full-time (Expected to be into the summer period TBC).
- Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 β 17:30, please note that some out-of-hours will be required dependent on candidate availability.
