KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for basic setup, program adjustments, operation, and maintenance of the machine.
- Determine specifications and job instructions from blueprints, work orders, and standard work instructions.
- Read weld symbols and tack.
- Measure, inspect, and test completed metal products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Complete documentation in a timely manner.
- Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training.
- Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas.
- Act, Live, and Behave by TCF Core Values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, depending on location and product line.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma typically required, with up to 2 years of experience.
- Ability to read and understand shop orders, blueprints, safety rules, and standard work instructions in English.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, capable of reading a tape measure.
- Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand tools.
- May be required to operate forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack depending on department.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND TRAINING
Company-provided certifications and training include:
- JSA completion, forklift operations, PPE identification, crane training, hazard awareness, lift table operations, rigging safety.
- Understanding of SQDE metrics, LDMS, issue boards, and 5S principles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Employees must be able to:
- Continuously lift/move 10 pounds; frequently up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally climb, balance, reach, and work in limited spaces.
- Possess specific vision abilities including close, color, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, high places, fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and loud noise levels.
