The Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM) section is seeking a Graduate Engineer or Engineer to support the development and application of advanced laser-based technologies, including Laser Directed Energy Deposition (L-DED) using powder and wire systems, Extreme High-Speed Laser Application (EHLA), and hot wire laser cladding. These technologies support industrial applications including repair, surface enhancement, and the manufacture of high-value components across sectors such as aerospace, energy and defence.

Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to process development, optimisation and industrial delivery of additive manufacturing solutions. The role will involve applying engineering principles and experimental methodologies to improve process performance, material integrity and component quality, while helping to solve complex technical challenges for customers.

You will be involved in multidisciplinary project delivery, taking ownership of defined technical work packages or complete projects with support from colleagues. The role requires strong communication skills to capture customer requirements and clearly interpret and present technical results, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload. A willingness to learn and adopt new technologies in a rapidly evolving field is essential. Your appointment will be made at Engineer or Graduate Engineer grade depending on your demonstrable competence.

This position may require travel in the UK and abroad to support customer, project and collaboration activities.
