Their mission goes beyond individual support; they actively challenge and disrupt the systems that perpetuate inequalities in society.

They are now looking for Employability Mentors to join their team on a full-time basis, for a one year fixed term contract.

If you are a compassionate and motivated individual with experience in mentoring and offering guidance, this is your chance to join our client’s purpose-driven organisation and support refugees and migrants to gain better career futures. In this rewarding role, you’ll be at the heart of empowering individuals to achieve their goals, making a tangible difference in their lives, breaking down barriers and opening up new opportunities for those who need it most.

As an Employability Mentor, you will mentor and offer career advice to refugees and migrants to enable them to secure jobs and training opportunities. Providing one-to-one sessions and employability workshops, you will offer personalised mentoring sessions, offering tailored advice, encouragement and feedback to help clients identify and build upon their strengths. You will also support clients in improving their English language skills by attending ESOL classes with them and providing further practice in real-world situations. A key part of your role will also involve facilitating integration by guiding clients to participate in community events and offering post-employment support for up to three months after they secure work.

Additionally, you will:

  • Attend job fairs and events, actively seeking opportunities for clients
  • Complete enrolment sign-ups and handle administrative tasks

About You

To be considered as an Employability Mentor, you will need:

  • Experience offering mentoring, advice and guidance to service users
  • Experience working with refugees, migrants and asylum seekers
  • Knowledge of Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) guidelines and framework
  • The ability to use CRM systems
  • To be at least Level 2 qualified in English Language

Due to the nature of this post, an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken for successful applicants, but only with their prior consent. Applicants need to have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this role. The closing date for this role is 2nd January 2025.
