**Description of role**: We’re on the lookout for practical, detail-oriented individuals to join our dynamic team in Cambridge as a Senior Technician in our cutting-edge Environmental Laboratories. These labs are at the forefront of materials testing in challenging environments—including hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen, and other aggressive conditions. Your contributions will directly support innovative projects that push the boundaries of engineering and sustainability.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

  • Collaborating with Project Engineers and fellow technicians to deliver bespoke materials testing.
  • Working with challenging environments under varying pressures and temperatures to simulate real-world conditions.
  • Applying your engineering know-how to assemble machinery, solve practical problems, and ensure high-quality results.

**What You Bring**:

  • A solid foundation in mechanical engineering and a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with machinery assembly and hands-on problem solving.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a high performing team.
  • Bonus points for knowledge of:
  • Gas chromatography
  • Instrumentation and materials testing machines
  • Data logging and analysis using Excel
  • Materials testing using servo hydraulic machines
  • Pressure testing.

**Travel**: This position may require regular travel both in the UK and abroad.
