Responsibilities:

  • Garden maintenance, including mowing, strimming, pruning, hedge cutting, weeding, digging, planting, and mulching.
  • Assist with larger garden clearance work and other specific garden projects.

Criteria:

  • A passion for gardening, nature and the outdoors.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and occasionally, as part of a team.
  • Excellent time keeping and organisational skills.
  • High level of observation and meticulousness.
  • Reliable and flexible.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools for various gardening tasks.
  • Experience and knowledge of various power tools & machinery used in gardening.
  • Ability and knowledge to offer basic gardening advice.
  • Happy to travel throughout Leamington Spa & Warwick for work.

Other essential criteria:

  • Must be happy to work on a self-employed basis. You will be responsible for completing and submitting your own self-assessment tax and submitting yearly to HMRC. You may need an accountant to help you with this.
  • You will need relevant insurance cover and be happy to submit evidence of this annually.
  • Must be physically fit, the job is physically demanding at times.
  • Must have a valid UK driving license and continuous use of a reliable vehicle, ideally an estate car, SUV or van.
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience of gardening or provide evidence of a passion and understanding of gardening.
  • Must be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions (unless hazardous) and be equipped with appropriate clothing and PPE.
  • Must have excellent, checkable work references.
  • A basic DBS check is required for this role.
  • Has own gardening hand tools and machinery (petrol or battery powered mower, strimmer, hedge cutters etc).
  • Has unrestricted use of an estate car, SUV, or van.
  • Gardening qualifications and or recent relevant experience.
