Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a major infrastructure project in Surrey & Didcot. Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the full commercial function of the project, ensuring robust cost control, value recovery, contract administration and commercial protection throughout the project lifecycle. This role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in highways, heavy civils, rail or infrastructure projects and solid NEC contract experience, ideally NEC Option C. Key Responsibilities * Full commercial management of a major civil engineering project. * Budget management, cost reporting and forecasting. * Procurement and management of subcontract packages. * Administration of NEC contracts and subcontract agreements. * Management of compensation events, variations and commercial risks. * Preparation and submission of applications for payment. * Cashflow forecasting and cost-to-complete reporting. * Delay analysis, claims preparation and loss & expense submissions. * Management of subcontractor accounts and commercial performance. * Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders. * Attending commercial and progress meetings as the commercial lead on the project. What We're Looking For * Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure. * Strong NEC contract knowledge, ideally NEC Option C. * Experience on highways, rail, marine, utilities or heavy civils projects. * Proven background in cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting. * Experience managing subcontractors and compensation events. * Strong negotiation and client‑facing skills. * Degree qualified or equivalent. * MRICS, MCICES or similar professional membership is advantageous.
