About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients growing construction team based in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of construction projects, ensuring cost control, value for money, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong experience in JCT contracts to work on a varied portfolio of projects within a well-established company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account
  • Administering and managing JCT contracts
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets, valuations, and final accounts
  • Managing variations, change control, and risk
  • Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
  • Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts (essential)
  • Experience managing projects from inception to completion
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost control skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred)
