We are looking for a Site Engineer to join a major defence project in Plymouth, working on a high-profile civils and structural package at Devonport Royal Dockyard. The project involves the refurbishment and redevelopment of key dockyard infrastructure supporting the Royal Navy's submarine maintenance programme, including dry dock works, structural packages, service subways, groundworks and associated civil engineering works.

You will be joining a strong delivery team on a technically challenging project, so we need someone who is confident on site, can work independently and understands the importance of accuracy, communication and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Setting out for groundworks, civils and structural packages
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Ensuring works are delivered accurately to specification
  • Supporting QA/QC processes and site documentation
  • Working closely with site teams, subcontractors and management
  • Helping drive progress on a complex live project environment
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and the wider project team
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects
  • Strong setting out experience
  • Exposure to groundworks and structural packages
  • Good QA/QC knowledge
  • Ability to read drawings and work to specification
  • CSCS card
  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience
  • Defence, nuclear, dockyard or major infrastructure experience would be beneficial
  • Willingness to complete security vetting

This is a strong opportunity for a Site Engineer who wants to work on a long-term, meaningful project with real technical complexity, rather than just another standard construction site.

Rate: £380 - £400 per day
