My client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join their construction team. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating the design process on a range of construction projects, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality and timely design outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and integration of architectural, structural, and MEP designs across all project stages.
  • Facilitate communication between design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve design issues.
  • Ensure that design information is compliant with building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Manage and maintain the design documentation process, including drawing registers, RFIs, and design change tracking.
  • Attend design meetings and workshops, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Support project planning by integrating design milestones into the overall construction schedule.
  • Monitor and manage design deliverables to ensure they meet quality, time, and cost expectations.
  • Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to align design outputs with subcontractor and supplier requirements.
  • Identify and escalate risks and conflicts related to design to the appropriate parties.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in design coordination or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, technical design, and building regulations.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working on residential/commercial/infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and ISO 19650 standards.
  • Knowledge of contract types such as D&B (Design and Build) or JCT/NEC forms.
