Our client, a well-established main contractor delivering complex construction and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly capable construction professional with strong experience managing reinforced concrete (RC) frame projects, alongside expertise in defence sector developments, external works, and high-quality internal fit out packages.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the delivery of major projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and client relationships across technically demanding and secure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle from planning through to handover
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders
- Oversee RC frame construction packages and associated structural works
- Manage external works, infrastructure, and high-specification internal fit out packages
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, environmental, and programme requirements
- Monitor project budgets, procurement, commercial performance, and risk management
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients
- Drive programme delivery while maintaining strong quality and safety standards
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within the construction industry
- Strong background delivering RC frame construction projects
- Experience working on defence or secure infrastructure projects highly advantageous
- Demonstrated experience managing external works and internal fit out packages
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and fast-paced project environments
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
- SMSTS, CSCS, and other relevant industry certifications preferred
