About the Role
Known's Media Science Business Development team is responsible for fielding and managing all new business opportunities for Known's Media Science team. They field inquiries, handle initial outreach calls and when a new business pitch happens pull together a multidisciplinary team of media experts to convince the potential client that Known is the best agency for them. The Specialist, Business Development will be a key part of this team assisting the Director, Business Development in making all that needs to get done happen and also leverage new technologies, such as AI, to improve the process as well as the output. This is a great learning opportunity as the role will entail working across all aspects of Known's Media Science group (and beyond) and will regularly interact with the most senior executives at the agency.
What You’ll Do
- Pitch Administration
- Manage pitch timelines ensuring that the team is working towards completing pitch deliverables on time and with excellence.
- Coordinate across multiple teams and resources to ensure work is progressing and team members are integrating and collaborating at key points in the process.
- Manage communication across the core pitch team to ensure team members are clear on timing and deliverables and where their input is required.
- Attend key pitch meetings and consolidate and track follow-ups across the team.
- Client Relations
- Communicate with potential clients and ensure that we are highly responsive when they communicate with us.
- Attend pitch meetings with potential clients and ensure follow-ups are captured, shared and executed on.
- Innovation
- Extremely proactive about identifying and piloting ways to leverage AI in our pitch process. This isn't about how we use AI to eliminate work or resources, but how we use AI to leap-frog where we are right now and truly impress clients.
Who You Are and What You Have
- 0-2 years of experience, including internships; agency experience is a plus.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
- An entrepreneurial spirit; constantly looking for ways to make things better and not afraid to try things on your own and bring successful ideas to the broader team.
- Highly organized; the kind of person who can juggle multiple balls at the same time.
- Hard worker; in new business the schedule is set by the potential client; sometimes it requires working on nights and weekends.
- Curious mindset with strong critical thinking skills needed to solve diverse business challenges.
- Strong communication skills especially in email.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Desire to be a hands-on multi-tasker that thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary for this position is $67K-$75K. This range is posted in compliance with state and municipal Pay Transparency laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to receive additional Known benefits.
