Our Medical Writers play a fundamental role in our business by contributing to day‑to‑day project delivery within an account, creating outstanding medical content across a variety of therapy areas. This position is ideal for a proactive communicator with a passion for science, a keen interest in AI, and a keen eye for detail who wishes to develop their medical writing career further. Additionally, our Medical Writers in Germany will support both the adaptation of global, English‑language content and the creation of original German‑language content.
Key Responsibilities- Scientific knowledge: good understanding of assigned therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, rare diseases, CRM).
- Effectively analyse and interpret scientific data for a wide range of projects.
- Strategic knowledge: understand medical affairs and commercial spaces within which clients operate.
- Review literature and competitive information, share findings and implications with teams.
- Participate in meetings and strategic discussions with clients, authors, and advisors.
- Language ability: fluent in German and English.
- AI: confidently use AI tools to support tasks and seek opportunities to improve workflow.
- Project ownership: manage day‑to‑day delivery of scientific content under limited supervision, ensuring communication objectives are met.
- Editorial: adapt writing style to suit different audiences (physicians, nurses, patients) and structure complex materials such as story flows and advisory board reports.
- Quality control: ensure all work is referenced and tagged appropriately; adhere to the FSA code of conduct and industry guidelines.
- On‑site: attend events and interact with clients and faculty to develop and finalise content.
- Client liaison: handle client contact for content development on straightforward projects and raise queries for challenging scenarios.
- Project management: adhere to project schedules and briefs, track deliverables, manage budgets, and communicate status updates to the account team.
- Strong scientific background with a degree in a scientific or medical discipline (post‑graduate degree preferred; high academic achievement expected).
- Passion for healthcare, science, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry, and a keen interest in AI technologies.
- Personable, articulate, and detail‑oriented.
- Previous experience as a junior medical writer at an agency or within a pharmaceutical organisation.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially PowerPoint, and able to transform complex scientific information into engaging, easy‑to‑understand content.
