The Manager, Media Buying drives digital media campaign success. This role is focused on hands-on buying, requiring expertise in developing and executing innovative media strategies, leading a team, and delivering exceptional client results. The Manager, Media Buying acts as a key marketing partner to clients, providing strategic optimizations, executional excellence, and ensuring effective media investments.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full campaign lifecycle, from initial strategy and client consultation on media approaches, platform nuances, and ad operations to maximize ROI to hands-on buying, budget management, and ongoing performance optimization.
  • Bid/buy, place campaigns within various digital platforms, and manage the ongoing real-time optimization of live media to ensure client goals are met and/or exceeded.
  • Evaluate and monitor campaigns for performance, ensuring campaigns are pacing accordingly, managing spend, troubleshooting campaigns, creating insights about performance, making updates accordingly, and flagging potential issues to management.
  • Create deliverables such as quarterly decks and performance recaps, and monitor campaign performance to derive insights and implement data-backed optimizations.
  • Provide excellent client service, including proactive communication, strategic guidance, and the cultivation of strong client relationships.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Media Analysts and Senior Media Analysts, fostering growth, a collaborative culture, and high-quality work.
  • Oversee team performance, deliverables, and workflows, implementing process improvements and optimizing structures to maximize output.
  • Collaborate and develop media plans with media planners for upcoming campaigns by determining the best platforms, target audience, and creative strategies to implement.
  • Maintain relationships with media vendors and develop platform, publisher, and brand partnerships.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of media agency experience managing and executing across digital platforms.
  • Experience buying and planning across multiple digital media channels with depth in a majority of the following: Social: Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube. Programmatic Display/Video (DV360, The Trade Desk, etc.).
  • Fluency with analytics, attribution, and measurement systems (e.g., Google Analytics, MOAT/IAS/DoubleVerify).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and recommend effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookups, macros) and ability to work in-platform.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely, and distill actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to provide constructive feedback, advocate for the team, and deliver kind candor.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative, empathetic, and proactive approach, building strong working relationships and fostering a positive team environment; understands the importance of listening, valuing diverse perspectives, and supporting colleagues.
