Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including statements of work, sponsorship agreements, insertion orders and custom content/influencer agreements, terms of service for generative AI platforms/tools, NDAs, data protection agreements, SaaS agreements and other related service or license agreements.
  • Training, educating, and advising teams about relevant legal issues and risks, approval processes, and company policies and procedures across various departments.
  • Conducting trademark clearance searches for developed trademarks, taglines/slogans, designs, and other consumer‑facing content.
  • Research and evaluation of current territory‑specific laws, rules and regulations relating to emerging digital media issues and technology.
  • Internal auditing of operational best practices and compliance with client agreements, including vendor reviews and auditing of internal processes and contracts.
  • Helping improve and/or develop our standard form agreements and/or processes.
  • Providing support for and collaborating with the rest of the global Legal team on a wide variety of matters, as needed and assigned.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree and J.D. degree with admission to one or more state bars in good standing required; NY Bar admission preferred. Candidates who are currently pending admission will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
  • 1‑3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in‑house or at a law firm working in digital media, advertising, and/or data protection industry(ies); candidates with experience in these areas as an intern or as a part of coursework are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of, general understanding and/or demonstrated interest or coursework related to digital advertising, intellectual property, artificial intelligence, data privacy laws and information security principles.
  • A strong and demonstrated interest in the digital world, social media, and emerging technology.
  • Prior experience related to technology licensing and/or artificial intelligence, a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills (including effective communication of legal advice to non‑lawyers).
  • Quick learner with a strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and readiness to work on a broad variety of matters and experience in finding business‑forward solutions.

Location

This role is based in our New York office. Candidates will be expected to work in the New York office in a hybrid capacity.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary $115,000—$130,000 USD. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
