Overview
Account Director, Corporate (Contract). 5W is seeking a dynamic Account Director for a contract engagement supporting our growing Corporate practice.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned agency professional who can hit the ground running.
The ideal candidate brings agency experience with corporate clients — spanning financial services, technology, sustainability/ESG, and beyond — along with sharp media instincts, expert pitching skills, and superior account and time management.

Responsibilities
- Act as primary contact to clients, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource and counselor to clients.
- Overseeing and implementing strategic communications programming
- Executive creative campaigns and brand partnerships
- Manage and delegate responsibilities of daily workflow of multiple accounts.
- Communicate account status to agency management regularly.
- Demonstrate proficiency in writing and editing materials particularly presentations, program plans and media strategies.
- Provide strategic guidance to clients and team members on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address clients’ needs.
- Troubleshoot media, team, or strategy problems as they arise; seek senior management input when appropriate.
- Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback.
- Strive to develop the best communication and presentation skills possible to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
- Conduct and lead monthly conference calls and meetings with clients
- Provide guidance and leadership to team members on effective pitching, team issues, account workflow and general account issues.
- Participate in the development of materials for new business opportunities including timelines, proposals, business decks and case studies; assist in generating new business leads.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop strategic/creative thinking for clients.
- Misc. research, duties and projects as required.
Qualifications
- S/B. A in Public Relations or related field
- At least 6 years of PR agency experience, specifically working with corporate clients
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and motivation skills
- Proven client relations, management and supervisory skills
- Creative and energetic personality
