About the Studio: Our client is a well-established, design-led consultancy with a strong portfolio and a genuine commitment to considered, high-quality work. The studio operates with a clear sense of purpose, and this is a team that takes both its creative output and its client relationships seriously.
About the Role: This is a position of real influence. As Senior Designer, you'll independently lead projects from concept through to completion, acting as the primary point of contact for clients and as the internal lead for your project teams. You'll bring confidence and maturity to everything from fee proposals and consultant coordination through to design delivery and mentorship, and you'll play an active role in shaping the studio's standards and culture. This isn't a role for someone looking to follow instructions. It's for a designer who's ready to take ownership, set the tone, and deliver consistently excellent work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full project lifecycles across all phases, including concept, WIP, specification, drawing production, and delivery
- Act as the primary client contact, managing relationships with professionalism and ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded
- Monitor project delivery against agreed hours and budgets, and communicate changes to cost, scope, or timeline clearly and proactively
- Manage internal team members and temporary staff as required, and mentor junior and mid-level designers
- Carry out site surveys and attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings
- Liaise with landlords regarding shell specifications and base building constraints
- Develop feasibility concepts into final schemes, including building control and fire strategy considerations
- Coordinate external consultants, including Structural Engineers, M&E specialists, and sprinkler contractors
- Produce and manage deliverables including Finishes Schedules, Door Schedules, Landlord Base Drawings, Landlord Coordination Plans, and Fire Strategy Drawings
- Represent the studio at industry events and contribute to business development activity
Requirements and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience leading interior architecture or design projects independently, from concept through to completion
- Confident in client-facing settings, with the ability to manage relationships and handle queries with professionalism
- Strong financial awareness, with experience monitoring project hours and budgets
- Experience coordinating external consultants across a project
- Competent in producing technical deliverables across all project stages
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Revit is an advantage
- A formal qualification in interior design or architecture is welcomed, though equivalent experience will be equally considered
