About the Studio

Our client is a design-led studio delivering high-quality interior and retail environments across the UK. Their strength lies in their ability to bridge creative intent and real-world delivery, and this role sits right at that intersection. They genuinely value design literacy within their project team, where creative training is seen as a strength, not something you've left behind.

About the Role

This role is designed for someone who understands design, but wants to build a career in delivery. Many people in this team started their careers as interior designers or architects. They understand drawings, spatial intent, materials, and the realities of fit-out, but have chosen to focus their careers on project coordination, management, and delivery rather than hands-on design. You won't be designing day to day, but your design background will be essential. You'll use it to anticipate issues, communicate clearly with designers and contractors, and protect the quality of the final outcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of interior and retail projects from design handover through to fit-out and completion
  • Track project programmes, milestones, and key deliverables across multiple workstreams
  • Act as a central point of communication between designers, contractors, consultants, and clients
  • Manage drawings, specifications, schedules, and document control, with a clear understanding of design intent
  • Support tendering, procurement, and contractor onboarding
  • Assist with compliance processes, including Building Control, CDM, and project approvals
  • Produce clear project reporting, action logs, and progress updates

For senior candidates, you'll also:

  • Lead reporting, compliance, and coordination independently across multiple projects
  • Support and mentor junior coordinators
  • Help refine internal processes, templates, and systems to improve project delivery

Requirements

You’ll need a background in interior design, architecture, or a related design discipline, and experience working on interior, retail, or fit-out projects in a delivery or coordination capacity (either client-side/in-house or agency works).

Essential skills and experience:

  • A strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and how design translates into construction
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to manage multiple stakeholders
  • A practical, detail-focused mindset, and a genuine interest in project delivery and build quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with project management or document control software experience a bonus
  • Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

Senior candidates will also bring:

  • Proven experience managing projects independently
  • Confidence overseeing compliance, reporting, and coordination without close supervision
  • Experience supporting or mentoring more junior team members

Why Apply

This is a role for someone who loves the structure, clarity, and satisfaction of delivering projects well. You'll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of interior and retail projects, with a clear pathway into Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager roles over time. If you come from a design background and want to focus your career on overseeing delivery, protecting design intent, and making complex projects run smoothly, this role is a strong and natural next step.
