About the studio

This is a small, in-house creative team that takes genuinely complex technology and turns it into work that people understand and enjoy looking at. The subject matter is medical, the science is real, and the design has to carry a lot of weight. The craft has to do the talking.

The company is built around quality rather than volume. Everything sits under one roof, so the designers, writers, and client relationship managers all work in the same room and care about the same things. Projects run from brand identities and brochures to exhibition stands, sales tools, and educational content, ensuring varied work.

About the role

This is a midweight role with a clear runway. The team is growing, and they are looking for someone ready to step up towards Senior Designer within the next six to twelve months.

Day to day, you would own projects from brief through to polished, print-ready and digital-ready delivery, working across branding, editorial layout, exhibition materials, and more. The most valued skill is the ability to take dense, technical, or information-heavy content and make it clear, engaging, and easy to digest.

You would also help shape a small team, giving thoughtful feedback and supporting a junior designer. Previous experience in a regulated sector is a nice bonus, not a requirement.

Your days will look something like this...

  • Design and artwork brochures, branded assets, exhibition materials, sales tools, and educational content
  • Turn complex, technical information into layouts that are clear and genuinely nice to read
  • Take ownership of projects from brief to final delivery, keeping quality high
  • Develop and apply client brand guidelines for consistency
  • Prepare properly finished, print-ready and digital-ready files
  • Support and mentor a junior designer
  • Collaborate closely with account, content, and creative teams
  • Keep an eye on the wider design world for fresh references

You might be our perfect match if...

  • You have solid midweight experience across design and artworking
  • Your portfolio shows strong editorial and brochure work
  • You are a careful artworker who takes print-ready files seriously
  • You can manage your own time across several projects
  • You enjoy helping less experienced designers grow
  • You are curious about AI and how it can enhance creative work

Why this one...

  • A rare chance to bring a fresh, creative eye to a technical sector
  • A clear path from midweight towards senior within six to twelve months
  • Varied, meaningful work for companies improving healthcare delivery
  • A close-knit, in-house team where your work is valued
  • Flexible working with only two days a week required in the studio
  • 25 days' holiday, your birthday off when it lands on a weekday, and private health insurance available
