About the Studio

This is a truly wonderful multidisciplinary studio working right across the world of branded environments, the places people shop, eat, drink, and unwind. Their work spans three sectors: retail, F&B/hospitality, and leisure. From boutique fit-outs and restaurant concepts to health clubs, spas, and hotels. The client list is the sort that turns heads, a mix of luxury houses, well-known high-street names, and household hospitality brands, and much of it is delivered at scale across multiple sites. Above the client list, what stands out about this studio is the care. Clients talk about attention to detail that is second to none, whether the job is a full concept redesign or a single tweaked fixture, and several relationships have run for a decade or more, which speaks volumes as to who they are as a studio and team. It is a collaborative, hands-on place, proud of its craft and genuinely liked by the brands it designs for.

About the Role

This is a senior, design-led role for someone who lives for the concept. You will own the creative response on your projects, taking a brief from first principles through mood, materials, and spatial storytelling, and into schemes that genuinely stand out in retail, food and beverage, and leisure. This is the role for a designer whose best work happens at the front of the process. It is hands-on throughout. You will develop the idea and then see it through: producing the drawings and specifications, coordinating consultants, and getting to site to make sure what gets built matches what you imagined. You will also be a point of reference for more junior designers, setting the creative bar and helping their work rise to meet it.

Your days will look something like this...

  • Lead the concept design on your projects, from first idea through to a resolved creative direction
  • Develop schemes across mood, materials, layout, and detail that feel considered and commercially sharp
  • Turn client feasibility sketches and briefs into interiors with a genuine point of view
  • Produce and oversee the detail: general arrangements, finishes and door schedules, shopfronts, ceilings, and scope of works
  • Coordinate the consultant team, structural engineers, M&E, and suppliers, so the idea survives contact with reality
  • Set the creative standard for junior designers and help sharpen their work
  • Get to site to survey and attend meetings, keeping the build true to the design intent
  • Stay close to building control and planning requirements so the concept is always buildable

You might be our perfect match if...

  • You are a genuinely strong concept designer, with a portfolio that shows ideas, not just tidy drawings
  • You have around seven to ten years' experience in retail, food and beverage, or leisure interiors
  • You hold an interior architecture, interior design, or architecture degree
  • You are fluent in AutoCAD and SketchUp, and comfortable in Adobe Creative Suite for visualising and presenting ideas
  • You can carry a scheme end to end, from the first sketch to the site visit, without losing the original thought
  • You know your way around building regulations and current legislation, and you design with them in mind
  • You are confident presenting your thinking to clients and bringing them along
  • You are happy on site, including the occasional early start or late finish that comes with the work

Why this one

  • A senior, design-led role where the concept is yours to shape, not someone else's to hand down
  • Real creative variety across retail, food and beverage, and leisure, rather than one narrow lane
  • The autonomy to lead the idea while staying hands-on with the craft
  • A studio that treats concept and delivery as the same job, done properly
  • Hybrid working, three days in a central London studio and the rest wherever you do your best thinking
