We're partnering with a globally recognised design studio to find an exceptional Associate Director, Interior Design, to join their London team on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving design quality, inspiring creativity across the studio, and overseeing the delivery of projects at scale – all while fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking team culture.

About the Role:

  • Deliver standout creative across medium to large-scale interior design projects.
  • Lead the conceptual and design development process, encouraging bold and original thinking.
  • Present compelling design narratives to clients.

Project Oversight:

  • Own the successful delivery of projects, maintaining oversight from inception to completion.
  • Delegate third-party coordination while remaining the senior point of contact.

Team Management:

  • Foster a positive, values-driven team culture.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth.
  • Provide clear feedback and performance reviews.

Client Development:

  • Nurture existing client relationships and seek out new opportunities.
  • Attend events and industry forums to support business development.
  • Assist in bid writing, proposals, and fee negotiations.
  • Understand and manage project financials with attention to resourcing and profitability.

About You:

  • A strong creative vision and portfolio of large-scale, high-quality design projects.
  • Confident client presenter and relationship builder, with a flair for unlocking new opportunities.
  • Commercially minded, with solid experience in project resourcing and financial awareness.
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills, able to manage teams, encourage innovation, and drive performance.
  • Skilled in relevant design software and tools.
  • Degree-qualified in interior design or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
