This role requires an individual with strong technical accounting skills and an eye for detail, who can understand reporting requirements and liaise effectively with internal and external partners to help deliver statutory, regulatory and lender reporting to an excellent standard.
Responsibilities
- Assist with statutory reporting requirements, preparing financial statements for an individual entity and consolidated level for all group companies under both FRS102 and IAS.
- Assist with technical accounting projects, investigate accounting treatment options, provide recommendations, and deliver any required process or reporting changes, liaising with all relevant internal and external parties as appropriate.
- Assist with year-end processes including, but not limited to year-end journals, audit deliverables and internal audit procedures.
- Assist with preparing FCA returns required for group entities.
- Assist with preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly facility reporting for financial backers.
- Key contributor to external audit work streams.
- To undertake any other ad hoc activities as requested.
Qualifications
- A newly qualified accountant with strong academics, relevant work experience and a track record in delivering statutory reporting and or regulatory reporting, ideally within financial services or audit.
- Strong competency in reporting requirements under FRS102 and IAS.
- Working knowledge of IAS39 and IFRS9.
- Ability to liaise with colleagues, external partners, auditors and independent advisers to recommend a technical approach and assist on delivery of any process and/or reporting changes.
- An enquiring mind, keen to develop and grow and strong attention to detail with the ability to think strategically.
- Apply a business partnering and critical questioning approach across all business activities.
- Understanding/experience of debt securitisation reporting is an advantage.
