Head of Hardware Engineering - Start-up - London - up to £110k + equity
The Company twenty AI are partnering with an innovative robotics and automation business that is transforming advanced manufacturing through cutting‑edge hardware and intelligent production systems.
The Role
This is a hands‑on engineering leadership role where you'll own the hardware design and product maturity of highly complex automated systems.
Working closely with software, robotics and automation teams, you'll lead a small hardware team whilst remaining heavily involved in design, testing and continuous product improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of complex automated machinery from prototype to production.
- Design mechanical systems, tooling and fixtures for real‑world deployment.
- Drive product reliability, manufacturability and continuous improvement.
- Integrate robotics and automation into larger machine systems.
- Mentor and develop a high‑performing hardware engineering team.
Qualifications
- Experience designing complex automated or electromechanical machinery.
- Strong mechanical design background with hands‑on engineering expertise.
- Experience taking products through build, testing and production.
- Previous technical leadership experience within a fast‑paced engineering environment.
- Experience working within a start‑up is highly advantageous.
- Background in Robotics or Mechanical Engineering is essential.
