TwentyAI is supporting a global private equity business in the search for a 6-month interim Financial Accountant, focused on forecasting, budgeting, and group reporting. This role sits at the centre of the finance function, owning key elements of the monthly close and delivering high-quality reporting to senior stakeholders, including Board and Executive Committees. The consultant will partner closely with global finance teams to enhance forecasting accuracy, strengthen reporting processes, and drive greater insight into business performance, leveraging modern data tooling and AI-assisted workflows. 3 days a week onsite in Central London.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of the Group monthly close process, including timetables, submission packs, and flash reporting.
  • Own monthly performance analysis vs budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing clear and actionable insight.
  • Support financial close activities for central head office, including key balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packs and analysis for Board and ExCo audiences.
  • Partner with finance teams across regions to improve forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Utilise data tools and AI platforms (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to enhance reporting efficiency, automate analysis, and improve insight generation.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis, support system enhancements, and contribute to ongoing finance transformation initiatives.
  • Identify and implement improvements across reporting, controls, and finance operations.

Candidate profile:

  • Proven experience in management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting within a complex, international environment as a Qualified Accountant.
  • Strong data capability (advanced Excel, and ideally exposure to SQL, BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau).
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g. Claude / ChatGPT) to streamline reporting, automate workflows, or enhance financial analysis.
  • Strong ownership of month-end close and group reporting cycles.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with senior stakeholder exposure.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple workstreams.
  • Track record of improving processes and delivering tangible outcomes.
