We are partnering with a global, PE-backed SaaS firm seeking a Director of Financial Controls and Operations to play a pivotal, hands‑on role reporting directly to the CFO. Leading a team of 12 across the UK and offshore, your focus will be on building robust financial foundations, developing team capabilities, and implementing critical process and systems improvements to support continual growth and international expansion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and mentoring teams across Accounts Receivable, Financial Operations & Tax, and Payroll.
  • Coaching managers for independent and best‑practice driven operations.
  • Implementing robust month‑end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Establishing documented procedures for procure‑to‑pay and order‑to‑cash cycles.
  • Driving automation and improving internal controls, with a focus on audit management and process excellence.
  • Optimising finance systems (especially NetSuite) and standardising processes across global entities.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to enhance financial insights, recurring revenue recognition, and SaaS metrics.

Key Skills

  • Proven track record in senior finance, controller, or transformation‑focused roles.
  • Significant experience within global recurring revenue SaaS businesses.
  • Private equity environment experience, with knowledge of growth and exit strategies.
  • International expertise managing multiple legal entities.
  • Demonstrated success driving process and system improvements, including automation.
  • Strong team leadership, including mentoring and developing managers.
  • Change management skills, especially in complex, fast‑paced environments.
  • Advanced NetSuite experience (preferred), with strong technical accounting and revenue recognition knowledge.
  • Experience with management reporting automation and BI tools.
  • Experience working with external auditors and strengthening internal controls.
  • Capable of building structure from ambiguity and supporting organisational transformation.
