An established European organisation with an international footprint is looking to appoint a Data Lead to evolve its data capabilities. The business operates across multiple sectors and is investing heavily in modern data infrastructure to support decision‑making and growth.
The Role
You will take ownership of the internal data platform, leading its development, governance, and ongoing operation. This role covers the full data lifecycle, from ingestion through to transformation and consumption, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and data quality. A key focus will be modernising the data stack and embedding best practices in data modelling and transformation. You’ll work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, trusted, and actionable.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the organisation’s data platform and associated tooling
- Lead the transition from legacy systems to a modern data architecture
- Design and maintain scalable data models for analytics and reporting
- Manage end‑to‑end data pipelines, ensuring quality and consistency
- Implement and enforce data governance and security standards
- Drive improvements in data engineering practices and platform performance
- Act as a key point of contact for data‑related best practices
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience with dbt (essential)
- Solid SQL skills and experience using Python in a data environment
- Experience working with modern cloud‑based data platforms and ELT workflows
- Proven track record in designing and maintaining analytical data models
- Good understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and security
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code principles
