The Role

As Head of Risk & Assurance, you will:

• Lead Risk Management: Develop and implement an enterprise-wide risk framework, ensuring risk assessments, internal controls, and mitigation strategies are effective.
• Oversee Governance: Maintain regulatory compliance, support board-level governance, and oversee policies on data protection, and business continuity.
• Assurance & Internal Audit: Manage internal audit activities, ensuring risk-based assessments and action plans drive continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with leadership teams, board committees, and external auditors to ensure best practices in risk and assurance.

About You

• Extensive experience in risk management, internal audit, and internal assurance within the public sector, educational sector, charities, health sector or trade bodies.
• Strong knowledge of governance, regulatory frameworks, and enterprise risk management (ERM).
• Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and communicate complex risk matters clearly.
• Experience in policy development, internal audit, and risk reporting at an organisational level.
