Twenty4Seven Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Assistant for an innovative and supportive Secondary School in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. This amazing full-time opportunity starts ASAP on a long-term basis. You will manage and work as part of a team to support a designated cohort of students, ensuring all the designated students are supported and that home and school liaison drives their progress. You will provide practical support for individual students and work with the whole school to promote positive behaviour management.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide support or activities for students in danger of becoming disaffected or disengaged, in lessons, during break times, lunch times and on educational visits as appropriate.
  • To work with students to raise awareness of appropriate behaviour in the classroom and around school, calming and diffusing difficult situations involving students when required.
  • To monitor and evaluate responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording, feeding back to the students and appropriate staff.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Satisfactory references covering the last 2 years.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child/Child & Adult Workforce) on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process).
  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Maths.
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience working with children within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience).
  • Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Great interpersonal and organisation skills.
