My client is seeking an experienced Product Analyst who is looking for progression to a Product Manager role. After an initial 12 months in the role of Product Analyst, the role will evolve into a Product Manager role for the right candidate. With that will come an increase in salary to circa £40,000.
Responsible for:
- Supporting the management of my client's product range through providing detailed insight into the sales performance and competitive positioning of the product categories and feeding this insight into lifecycle plans for each product category.
Job Purpose:
To ensure my client's product range is competitively positioned.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- As the product analyst, you will be responsible for analysing the performance of products to ensure the products are competitively positioned in terms of feature set and price.
- You will also take responsibility for ensuring products have the appropriate documentation and all stages of the launch process are followed for any new products or product changes.
- You will also be responsible for analysing sales prices of the product portfolio and recommending areas where my client can optimise margin.
- The Product Analyst will be responsible for providing a suite of monthly reports that track competitor movement and the sales performance, providing insightful commentary on any trends and recommending changes to the product portfolio.
- You will work closely with the product manager and product & marketing manager to maintain lifecycle plans for each product category to plan the next 18 months of product development.
- You will also ensure all new products that are recommended for launch have an approved business case which will be used to measure the success of product launches through tracking of launch KPIs.
- The product analyst will work closely with the sales team to collate product feedback, including new product requests, and feed this back into the product team.
- The product analyst will be expected to manage end of life notifications from suppliers and work with the Product Manager to ensure alternative products are sourced and launched prior to the outgoing product selling out of stock to ensure no disruption to customers.
- With over 10,000 products, there are always changes to the product landscape in the pipeline and the product analyst will be expected to support in the launches of these changes, driving the completion of various tasks from colleagues in various departments.
Experience Required:
- The successful candidate will be proficient in analysing large data sets and distilling the important information into recommendations to improve sales performance and margin of products.
- The candidate must also be comfortable in dealing with sporadic data sources when it comes to completing competitor analysis and must be comfortable taking the initiative in obtaining information.
- The successful candidate will also be comfortable tracking deadlines and driving the delivery of tasks outside of the product department.
- Experience in product marketing with a good understanding of product lifecycle management will be a major advantage in securing this role.
