We’re looking for compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a variety of specialist SEN schools across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Northumberland.

Your Role:

* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning needs

* Help pupils access learning and develop confidence, communication, and independence

* Support teachers in adapting and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons

* Promote positive behaviour, well-being, and participation in school life

* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support teams to deliver individual learning plans

* Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)

* A Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (essential)

* Empathy, patience, and a proactive attitude

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

* A genuine commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and helping every child thrive

Additional training in Autism, SEMH, Makaton, or PECS would be advantageous.

You’ll be working in a network of specialist SEN schools across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Northumberland.
