As an enthusiastic, adaptable and dedicated Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into classrooms when teachers are absent, delivering pre-planned lessons, managing behaviour, and keeping students on task. Starting September you’ll work across multiple secondary schools throughout Coventry, meaning every day brings a new setting, subject, and challenge.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain broad classroom experience, build strong professional networks and support schools during teacher absences. This role offers variety, flexibility, and valuable experience for those considering a future in teaching or education support roles.

The Role:

  • Safeguard pupils’ well-being by following relevant statutory guidance along with school policies, procedures and practice
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of teaching staff across a range of subjects and year groups (KS3 & KS4)
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, focused learning environment (ensuring school policies are followed)
  • Provide pupils with feedback on their progress where appropriate
  • Be a positive role model and uphold the school’s values and expectations
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff

About You:

  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, sports coaching, youth work) is desirable but not essential
  • Strong classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively
  • Confident, flexible and reliable
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills
  • A proactive and resilient attitude
