Are you a caring, patient and committed individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Independent SEN School in Coventry on a full-time, long-term, ongoing basis from September.

The School: This specialist School is uniquely based within a Children’s Home setting, providing education for young people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism (aged 7–18) in a safe, calm, nurturing and therapeutic environment. Students have access to sensory-friendly indoor and outdoor learning spaces and assistive technology to enhance engagement and accessibility. Through carefully designed Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) they prioritise personalised learning, ensuring each student receives the tailored support they need to reach their full potential. Their goal is to help students become functionally and emotionally literate young adults, able to safely navigate the world with independence suited to their individual needs.

The Role:

  • Support the Class Teacher in delivering personalised learning
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support students’ emotional regulation and social development
  • Help create a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside therapists and care staff
