You will be responsible for supporting the VP of Global Compliance in driving product compliance across the global team, with particular focus on global legislation, specifically UK, EU, and US. Experience with all of these markets is essential. Multi-product experience required to cover hard goods, fashion accessories, home and gifting, packaging, electrical, food, and beauty accessories. Luxury packaging is a particular focus, knowledge in this category, covering materials, printing techniques, construction, transit testing, and sourcing is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the Product Compliance teams to ensure the smooth transition of product from design, into production and beyond.
- Fostering a 'right first time' mentality across the business.
- Supports Global Compliance Manager and QA Manager with initiatives to achieve both the Compliance strategy and overall Business strategy i.e. developing new processes, creating manuals etc.
- Create and present training materials designed to educate teams on Compliance topics i.e. product testing, product quality, labelling requirements, certifications.
- Driving supplier performance, ensuring top suppliers work towards our 'right first time' approach.
- Taking ownership of technical compliance across several global teams covering multi product.
- Responsible for risk assessing product and packaging for compliance with global legislations. Ensuring products are safe and fit for purpose.
- Implementing procedures to ensure continued high quality standards.
- Ensure that all products meet chemical, legal and performance standards, including education of our suppliers to promote responsible sourcing and product compliance.
- Supporting the Creative/Design and Operations teams with testing and product compliance queries.
- Effective and frequent communication with global factory base and Twelve’s global team.
Qualifications:
- Client-facing role - must be comfortable explaining technical, compliance, and quality requirements to a variety of roles and levels within the brands we work with.
- Experience of working with or for global retailers.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of US and EU testing and compliance requirements. e.g., Reach, Prop 65, labelling requirements.
- Strong technical expertise in multiple product areas.
- Must have experience in visiting global factories and sound knowledge of manufacturing processes of a variety of product types.
- Commercial decision making.
