We are seeking a home-based Health and Safety Consultant, primarily covering East Midlands, with an ideal location near Cambridge, Peterborough, Northampton, offering flexibility for occasional travel or overnight stays.
Job Title: Health & Safety Consultant
Package: A competitive package including a basic salary of circa £45k depending on experience and qualifications, potential commission, car allowance, pension, and other benefits.

Job Description
You will work with clients across various sectors, providing health and safety advice to ensure UK legislation compliance. A strong background in H&S, relevant experience, and professional qualifications are essential. You will support employers with practical and commercial advice on H&S issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify gaps in clients\’ health and safety management and produce audit reports.
- Develop tailored Safety Management systems and support ongoing compliance.
- Build relationships with clients and contribute to new service development.
- Support clients on H&S standards and best practices.
- Maintain regular contact and record interactions in CRM.
- Act as out-of-hours H&S advisor on a rotation basis.
- Identify new business opportunities and liaise with departments.
Qualifications & Experience
You should have a strong H&S background with relevant qualifications. Preferred qualifications include:
- Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH)
- NEBOSH Diploma
- ISO45001 lead auditor
- Accredited IOSH trainer
- Fire Qualifications Certificate (essential), Diploma (preferred)
Minimum requirements:
- NEBOSH General/NCRQ/NVQ Level 3 qualification
- Working towards or willing to pursue Chartered status
- At least two years of front-line H&S experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and H&S software
Teamwork & Communication
Support colleagues, deliver training, build client relationships, and proactively seek new business opportunities. Strong communication and organizational skills are vital, along with a commitment to customer service and professionalism.
This role involves regular travel within the designated area and occasional overnight stays.
