The Role
5 News delivers distinctive programmes and exclusive stories with people at the heart of our storytelling. The role of Content Producer is a key position in our newsroom where excellent production skills are recognised and encouraged for linear and digital content.
The successful candidate will be a strong journalist who can spot a story and tell it in an innovative way. The role includes all aspects of programme production including package producing, editing, templated graphics, and script writing. Content Producers also take responsibility for the output of shorter bulletins during the day, evenings and weekends and are present in the gallery for transmission.
You must understand the digital landscape and be able to use the above skills to help source and create digital content on 5 News’s social media platforms as you will also be required to build, post and schedule digital pieces working to the Digital Editor.
Across linear and digital you will need to work with our Correspondents and Reporters in sourcing, creating and promoting our content.
