We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our innovative engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements into appropriate and cost-effective designs that can be fabricated by the SB workshop team and which support lean manufacturing processes.

The job holder is required to ensure the smooth development throughout the design process through to product completion.

Duties

  • Interpret customer requirements to prepare technically accurate drawings and BOMs.
  • Liaise with sales departments and purchasing team to ensure that all appropriate materials will be available to complete the current customer specification.
  • Relevant and accurate detailed drawings are produced that support the capabilities of the machinery within the Company.

All designs comply with current vehicle type approval requirements.

  • Lean manufacturing processes are used wherever possible
  • Maintain awareness of technical developments.
  • Identify solutions to improve production efficiency.
  • Use design software to develop models and drawings of current and new products.
  • To work as part of the wider TVS Team, supporting other colleagues and undertaking additional duties as required
  • To ensure compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety
  • To ensure equality and diversity is actively promoted in the workplace
  • Any other duty as directed by the Engineering Manager
