Job Responsibilities

  • Analyse client’s technical data for both new assets/products and changes at the component level – for inclusion in parts catalogues and/or stocking in the Distribution Centre (DC).
  • Assist the Dennis Eagle Parts Team to resolve technical enquiries arising from historical parts information, vehicle build information and design change requests.
  • Investigate supersession parts which may require research into the original designs (compared to new designs).
  • Assist other TVS departments in resolving manufacturing, stocking and quality queries.
  • Liaise with client representatives to resolve queries relating to product data.
  • Assist third parties using the PDM system when required.
  • Check the validity of parts ‘assigned’ from third‑party PDM users before promoting them to ‘released’ status.
  • Look for process improvement and/or efficiencies in data handling.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read, and interpret: Electrical drawings; Asset/product configurations & specifications; Engineering‑released documents (PCNs); Production/manufacturing indented bills of material (eBoM).
  • Possess a good understanding of engineering principles and processes.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to form effective working relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Aptitude for information/data gathering.

Experience

  • Engineering qualifications or time‑served engineering experience.
  • Previous experience interpreting bills of material.
  • Previous experience in handling technical data and management of that data.
  • Previous experience working with PLM systems.
  • Building relationships with Suppliers and/or Purchasing teams.
  • Understanding Health & Safety (H&S) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) information.
