Job Description
Manage daily operations of Freight Operations for assigned accounts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the import, export, billing and customs processes and procedures for assigned Freight Operations accounts.
- Be responsible for day-to-day decision-making and ensure escalations are addressed promptly.
- Coordinate with agents, carriers, vendors, overseas offices, COE and customers to ensure smooth transactions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained across all levels of operations.
- Ensure that financial management, billing, and invoicing are carried out in a timely manner
- Support productivity enhancements within Freight Operations.
- Actively engage in freight system digitalisation initiatives across the network.
- Support corporate initiatives for Freight Solutions.
- Support the selection of carriers and agents and negotiate rates and pricing.
- Support commercial activities by providing freight solutions for target customers and assisting local sales efforts through joint customer calls, bids and proposal preparation.
- Participate in project bids and execution
- Monitor KPIs and ensure timely generation of reports for management review
- Ensure company policies and procedures, confidentiality requirements, and legal and ethical guidelines, such as the Delegation of Authority, are clearly communicated and adhered to.
- Coach and guide junior team members to ensure development and succession planning

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding or a related field.
- Significant experience in freight forwarding operations, preferably in a management role, typically gained through 10+ years’ relevant freight forwarding or equivalent experience.
- Established working relationships with customers, airlines, shipping lines and agents.
- Strong knowledge of cargo service pricing and freight operations.
- Ensure operations comply with applicable UK customs, trade compliance, health and safety, data protection, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Working knowledge of financial reporting.
- Strong customer management skills.
- Good knowledge of freight management systems, including Cargo Wise, local customs and trade portals.
- Strong teamwork skills.

- Strong people management and development skills.
- Strong service orientation.
- Strong change management skills.
