The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Purpose: understand the TVS-developed Product Data Management (PDM) system, its interaction with other TVS SCS core systems, application functionality and working processes: add new parts & BoMs to the single-source data repository - using the Product Data Management (Msys.PDM) application, manage asset information, the related BoM-build data and the lifecycle management of that data. analyse bill of materials and create ‘serviceable’ aftermarket parts data, liaise with the Technical Publications team to create supplementary sBOM illustrations, analyse engineering-released technical drawings and CAD data, manage supersession information (using TVS supersession 'types' and 'grades'), related/associated parts and cross-references (under the client’s instructions).
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- analyse client’s technical data for both new assets/products and changes at the component level - for inclusion in parts catalogues and/or stocking in the Distribution Centre (DC),
- assist the Dennis Eagle Parts Team to resolve technical enquiries - arising from historical parts information, vehicle build information and design change requests,
- investigate supersession parts which may require research into the original designs (compared to new designs),
- assist other TVS departments in resolving manufacturing, stocking and quality queries,
- liaise with client representatives to resolve queries relating to product data,
- assist third parties using the PDM system (when required),
- check the validity of parts ‘assigned’ from third-party PDM users before promoting them to ‘released’ status,
- look for process improvement and/or efficiencies in data handling.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- ability to read, and interpret engineering drawings, electrical drawings, asset/product configurations & specifications, engineering-released documents (PCNs), production/manufacturing indented bills of material (eBoM).
- possess a good understanding of engineering principles and processes,
- ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and targets,
- excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to form effective working relationships with both internal and external partners,
- aptitude for information/data gathering.
- engineering qualifications or time-served engineering experience,
- previous experience interpreting bills of material,
- previous experience in handling technical data and management of that data,
- previous experience working with PLM systems,
- building relationships with Suppliers and/or Purchasing teams,
- understanding Health & Safety (H&S) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) information.
