Over the past 104 years, TVS Supply Chain Solutions has been highly successful in providing multidisciplinary supply chain solutions to the Defence sector, offering a wide range of services direct to the UK MOD and to Prime Contractors. In recent years, the TVS SCS defence business has expanded and now plays a key role in some of the UK’s largest Defence programmes. To support further growth, the business is looking for an experienced and well-rounded Senior Business Development Manager who has a leaning towards solution design with the ambition and capability to grow into a director role.

As a Senior BDM, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating opportunities for business growth by creating strategies, forming new partnerships, analysing market trends, and negotiating deals to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s market.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within Defence Prime contractors to promote our high-quality service.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy targeting Primes, to drive revenue growth for the company.
  • Build company knowledge to understand and be in a position to propose solutions to clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Solutions and Implementation team on Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Coordinate and present proposals to prospective clients and lead the full sales process.
  • Collaborate with the implementation and operational teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new customers.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create campaigns to generate leads and increase brand awareness.
  • Perform market analyses, seeking out trends and reviewing customer needs, to identify new opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Accurately record sales activities and customer interactions to the CRM system.
  • Provide regular and detailed reporting to Directors.
  • Attend social and networking events to build the company presence and stay up to date on industry trends.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience in Defence Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • Prior experience in a Solution Design function or similar.
  • Experience of facilitating customer-facing workshops.
  • Clear and confident communicator with strong language skills, able to explain scenarios in a way that is easily understood by users of all levels.
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines and commitments in a high-pressure environment – working closely with wider-business SMEs.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, be confident in presenting to new clients, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Be strategic, forward-thinking, able to negotiate and converse confidently at any level.
