Purpose: The procurement support technician plays a key role in evaluating and ensuring compliance with Tesco part technical and quality requirements. Provides technical, quality, sourcing, and logistical support for TVS SCS Customer, Supply Chain, Supplier Chain Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Warehouse Teams. This role is focussed on, but not exclusive to, refrigeration parts and suppliers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Customer Support: Provide technical and quality support for our customers. Promptly respond to customer queries or requests for information and attend meetings as required.
- Part Sourcing: Assist purchasing by engaging with our customers and other stakeholders to review part technical and quality requirements and to establish potential alternative sources for the supply of parts.
- Part Risk Management: Ensure all part sourcing proposals comply with TVS and customer specifications and requirements. Inspect parts, create part records, and liaise with the customer to obtain approval.
- Returns Processing: Assist supply chain with managing and processing returns including parts for refurbishment, re-work, stock optimisation, quality investigation, inspection & calibration.
- Obsolescence Management: Work with suppliers, customers and the TVS purchasing team to identify and monitor the risk of part obsolescence and work with all parties to mitigate the risk.
- Supplier Risk Management: Create and process supplier and part non-conformance records. Request customer concessions. Support Supply Chain QA to establish root cause corrective actions for part issues and non-conformance.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in installing and commissioning refrigeration systems, servicing and maintaining refrigeration systems, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years experience in refrigeration system specification and installation, or fitting, maintaining and servicing refrigeration equipment and components in food retail or industrial units.
- Familiar with key refrigeration manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Effective communicator.
- Resilient and clear thinking under pressure.
- Literate and numerate.
- Team player.
- Computer Literate.
