We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Purchasing Department. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring the smooth supply of materials, components, and services to support production.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing while building strong supplier relationships and ensuring the best balance of cost, quality, and delivery. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on business performance and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing purchasing activities to achieve the best quality, price, and delivery
  • Negotiating contracts and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Raising purchase orders and managing delivery schedules
  • Monitoring stock levels to support efficient production
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Identifying new suppliers and staying up to date with market trends
  • Resolving issues related to quality, supply, pricing, and invoices
  • Supporting supplier performance analysis and reporting
  • Collaborating with internal teams including production and stores
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and company policies

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or materials management (manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of supply chain principles and ERP/P2P systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, and make effective decisions

Desirable:

  • MCIPS qualification (or working towards)
  • Contract knowledge
  • Data analysis experience
