Principal Integrity Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Integrity Engineer for a permanent role. The successful candidate will join our expanding Asset Integrity Management team based in Derby, UK, and will play a key role in leading and delivering solutions for our clients in the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors (primarily CCGT, Biomass and Energy from Waste plants).
Duties and responsibilities
- Leading and delivering power plant integrity assessments.
- Developing risk‑based inspection strategies.
- Providing technical support and advice to clients.
- Assessing inspection results (run / repair / replace decisions).
- Producing formal technical reports and other project deliverables on time and to budget.
- Creating proposals, tender documents and developing new business opportunities.
- Mentoring and developing less experienced integrity engineers.
- Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of standards, legislation and good practice.
- Conducting site visits in the UK and abroad to meet project requirements.
Experience
The candidate must have experience in all, or most, of the following:
- Integrity assessment of defective power plant components—low and high temperature (e.g., reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis).
- Legislative compliance (e.g., UK PSSR).
- Power plant inspection (e.g., steam and water pressure parts, boiler tube surveys, support surveys) with an understanding of materials selection, damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment.
- Power plant mechanical engineering.
- Power plant operations and maintenance.
- Experience working in conventional power and clean energy sectors (primarily CCGT, Biomass and Energy from Waste plants).
- Excellent organisational, problem‑solving, communication and report‑writing skills.
Required qualifications and experience
- BEng / MEng degree or equivalent in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering).
- Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration is desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
