The Vertical Transportation Consultant role involves design, project management, and maintenance account management for major clients and projects. This is primarily a field-based position conducting maintenance audits on lift and escalator equipment. You will coordinate with the team to ensure efficient delivery of audits at customer locations, meeting contractual obligations promptly.
Depending on workload, opportunity, and individual ability, there is potential for development into a full consultant role.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys, evaluate, and assess lift and escalator installations regarding condition, maintenance, and lifecycle status.
- Complete necessary documentation following company procedures.
- Build rapport with clients and deliver excellent customer service.
- Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in the lift industry.
- Qualified engineer with Mechanical/Electrical skills related to lifts and escalators.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude, capable of working independently.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Criteria & Additional Duties:
- BTEC HNC Mechanical or Electrical, or higher qualification.
- Recognized Mechanical/Electrical qualification (NVQ 3/4 or equivalent).
- Experience in producing client reports, technical specifications, and performance specifications.
- Project management experience in refurbishment and new installations.
- Quality auditing experience for maintenance reporting.
- Knowledge of contract forms (e.g., MF1, JCT, NEC).
- Awareness of Principal Designer duties.
- Commercial and client account management experience.
- Ability to prepare fee proposals, handle invoicing, and credit control.
- Ability to seek and generate new clients and projects.
