Position Summary: The Food and Beverage Lead Auditor is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audits of management systems to ensure compliance with standards such as FSSC 22000/ISO 22000 and BRC standards. This involves evaluating processes, identifying improvement areas, and supporting continual improvement initiatives. The Lead Auditor works independently or with a team to assess systems, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations. Performs 3rd party certification audits for US and Canada F&B customers to FSSC or BRCGS standards, and 2nd party audits on behalf of customers and suppliers. Maintains a schedule of audit activities, reviews corrective actions, and pursues credential advancements. Works closely with the Food and Feed Program Manager on operational activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and conduct internal and external audits in compliance with food management system requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage audit teams during assessments.
  • Analyze food safety and quality documentation for conformity.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting non-conformities, risks, and opportunities.
  • Recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Present findings to clients and advise on system improvements.
  • Stay updated with food standards and regulations.

Working Conditions:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent auditor credentials.
  • Certified BRC and FSSC Lead Auditor (Exemplar Global or equivalent).
  • 3-5+ years in Food and Beverage manufacturing or QA.
  • HACCP certification (min 16 hours).
  • Experience as a qualified BRCGS or FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor (1+ years).
  • Completed FSSC/SQF/BRCGS Lead Auditor courses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative.
