TÜV SÜD is an international provider of testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services, as well as technical advisory and R&D. We deliver to customers from a range of industries including Renewable & Sustainable Energy, Oil & Gas, Water and Government. Over the last four years we have developed significant capability in hydrogen and CCUS sectors, and have over the last year started offering a range of services related to sustainability and renewable energy. These four service lines fall under our Green Energy and Sustainability (GES) business area, which has now grown to the extent that it requires further bid and sales support to our business development manager, to continue the rapid growth. We are looking for someone to lead the process of quotation writing and tender/bid development, as well as maintaining internal systems in relation to tracking of the sales opportunity pipeline, for the GES area. You will be someone with good experience of quote preparation and bid writing, an in depth understanding of how tender processes work and good commercial awareness. We work with both the private and public sector, so an existing understanding of public procurement processes will be beneficial, but not essential. We have an enthusiastic team of experts in this area, and you will need to be personally passionate about sustainability and decarbonisation to fit in with the team. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, organisational and planning skills with the ability to create well-structured and complaint bids submitted within the required timelines. The role can be primarily home or office based, or with a hybrid working pattern, and may require occasional travel for business to visit customers and events (no more than 10% of the time). The candidate must have the eligibility to work in the UK. Essential requirements for the candidate: * A strong background and demonstrable experience in sales and bid management, with a track record of successfully winning work and technical bid writing * Highly customer orientated * Detail oriented and highly organised whilst working to deadlines * Excellent communication skills, especially related to writing, and the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels * Proficient in the use of the Microsoft office suite of applications * Be genuinely enthusiastic about and committed to the energy transition and drive to net-zero Advantageous requirements for the candidate: * A good first degree in a STEM subject, or equivalent industry experience * Experience of public sector and Crown Commercial Services tender processes * Broad strategic and political knowledge of the decarbonised energy sector, most especially hydrogen and CCUS * Broad strategic and political knowledge related to sustainability, including knowledge of the prevailing and emerging regulations and legislation, voluntary codes and standards * Knowledge of relevant documentary standards, regulations and legislation related to the hydrogen and CCUS sectors, and sustainability * Full UK driving license or license that allows driving on UK roads Further Information TÜV SÜD in the UK offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes a minimum of 33 days holiday entitlement (for full-time employees, including public holidays), a contributory Group Personal Pension Plan and a non-contributory Group Life Assurance Scheme.
