At TÜV SÜD we are passionate about technology. Innovations impact our daily lives in countless ways, and we are dedicated to being a part of that progress. We test, we audit, we inspect, we advise. We never stop challenging ourselves for the safety of society and its people. We breathe technology, we strive for professional excellence, and we leave a mark.

Are you a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation professional looking for a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same? We are looking for an EC&I Technician to join our Engineering team in East Kilbride. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical challenges – from commissioning flowmeters and working with PLCs to updating drawings in AutoCAD and supporting facility electrical works.

The Role

You will play a key part in installing, maintaining, and commissioning electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. The work is varied: one day you might be troubleshooting a PLC fault, the next you could be wiring a control panel or updating P&IDs. You will work with industrial control platforms including WinCC and iFIX, support system configuration and monitoring, and ensure everything meets health and safety standards. This isn’t just a maintenance role – you will be involved in small‑scale installation projects, hands‑on commissioning work, and providing technical support to the wider team.

What You’ll Bring

You will have completed a recognised Electrical/Instrumentation Apprenticeship and hold your 18th Edition certification. You will be confident with electrical and instrumentation maintenance, have experience installing and supporting flowmeters, and be comfortable with AutoCAD for drawings and P&IDs. We are also looking for someone who can turn their hand to general facility electrical tasks when needed. If you have the core electrical and instrumentation skills but are less experienced with PLCs or industrial control systems, don’t let that put you off. We are happy to provide training in Siemens PLCs, WinCC, iFIX, and communication protocols for the right candidate. CompEx certification would be a bonus, but again, training can be arranged.

What We’re Looking For

Above all, we want someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and thrives in a team environment. You will need solid PC skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation – but equally, you will need to be just as comfortable with a set of tools in your hand.

If you’re ready for a role that offers variety, technical challenge, and the opportunity to develop your skills further, we’d love to hear from you.
